Will I Ever Forgive

Posted in Group:

My man of seven years decides after almost five years together that he is going to beat the crap outta me on a regular basis for no reason- I had been in an abusive relationship prior to him & made a promise to NEVER allow that to happen to me again- well this guy that says he "loves" me the father of my twin sons just absolutely brutalized me for better than a year! Like an idiot I stayed, & since the hitting has stopped, it seems that the scars are still there & I am a forgiving & understanding person, but I have so much resentment, & hurt that I reflect back in a moments time & the floods of ALL the pain comes back- I don't know what to do- am I going to carry this forever? Will I get past it? Is it worth it? I just want it to go away-

Oh honey you have to let him go. You are your number one priority right now. I grew up watching my mother be beaten and fight back all my childhood. It is brutal. I can only imagine being the one not watching but having it done to. You should leave and get some therapy... the apologies, the i love you babe, the kisses, etc. don't mean a damn thing. You deserve better, You deserve so much BETTER!!!! and you know what, you're babies deserve so much better. And you say you've been down the abusive road before so i know you know what it feels like to be scared, jumpy, and sometimes just ready for it to be over with. You need to get out of there honey. You can get past this, it's all up to you, you're gunna have to face some past issues, move forward, think highly of yourself, etc. but i know you can do it! You will get past this and move on to so much BETTER!

sincerely, L.
