Discourage to Communicte to people

I'm new in Houston, Tx and just move here 6 months ago, and I'm trying to work on more on my social skills just by talking to new people. Hope that one day I can gain more ture friends to build a support system, but I'm starting off with my sisters and the two of them have been never close. It's hard for me because I don't know anybody to talk when I'm down, and sometimes when I'm down they shut me down and don't want to be open up to me because they take things way to personal. Now I'm discourage to simply communicate with them, because they don't what to follow through.

It is hard to branch out when you move to a new city because you've lost family and friends from the previous State. Can you stay in touch with your family and friends? Use that as a learning tool so when you feel safe, you can branch out slowly to make some new friends.

hey honey...I'm sorry you're having a rough time. I have trouble actually talking on the phone, so prefer cards, texting, e-mails and FB. I send cards to lovedones because you know they will read them. People love getting them too. Can you try that with your family? Until you are able to make new friends, please know that you have all of us and me? My name is Kathy and I check for messages every day. I'm from Georgia. A grandmother of 5. There are others on here from Texas. Wouldn't that be great if you all can talk? I have met some very kind people on here and you will too! Write whenever you can hun.....Kathy
