DH Gambling Addiction

Posted in Group:

I am not even sure i'm in the right place but... My husband is a compulsive gambler. Recently I caught some financial stuff that just didn't look right, and that is how he got caught. I cannot even describe how badly I feel. I feel like an idiot, because deep down I knew but kept avoiding and ignoring the issue to avoid a fight. Because it seems every time I mention something it turns into a backstabbing, down and out nast scene, so to avoid that I've been overlooking a lot. The thing is I love him so much, and I am so hurt that he would have been doing this and lying to me. He went to a ga meeting last night and seems serious about stopping, but I am also going to a gamanon meeting monday night so get some help and support. I just can't believe it, I feel so numb inside to hurt to be angry even. Just devastating that the person I love and trusted has screwed me like this. I know it's an illness, but I am really really upset.

It is good that you are going to the meeting, this way you will know how to approach and to help the situation. God bless you.
